Does life feel heavy, stagnant.. no structure?
Do you often find yourself just “floating” through the days..
feeling as if life is doing you and you not doing life?
So many things outside of your control, so much time continuing to past..
wondering how you can get out of this loop.. how you can feel alive?
I’ve always heard the saying “if you want to change your life.. go to the gym”.
For years, I’ve overlooked this major key to existence, looking for other ways to feel alive.
Like most young adults do, I turned to things that gave a “quick fix”..
..instant gratification.
things like a blunt, a drink, a night of passion.. All things that feel good in the moment.
But after that moment fades.. the feelings of having no structure still remain.
You continue to feel lost and slowly notice that your body is changing. And not for the good.
Ya see, the thing about alcohol is… it goes straight to your stomach.
Yup, straight to your gut.
You combine that with not working out and not eating healthy, one day you’ll look in the mirror and not recognize yourself.
Life is full of things that are simply just out of our control.
But prioritizing your health is one of the few things we can control.
And in doing so, you not only change your physical appearance but also the way you think.
Let’s explore ways you can make exercising apart of your routine.
- Make the decision to stay committed
- This is the most important step.
- If you don’t commit to the lifestyle switch, you’ll constantly be in the “preparation” stage but not actually executing.
- Yes, you’ll fall off sometimes, but being committed to your routine will help you push through.
- This is the most important step.
- Choose what’s feasible for you:
- Your exercise may not be weight lifting at the gym, it could be pilates or running a marathon, dancing, sports, etc.
- Either way choose what makes sense to you. As long as you’re exercising and moving your body, that’s what matters.

- Come up with a routine:
- This goes hand in hand with choosing to stay committed.
- Your routine is your spine, without it.. you’ll plummet.
- Come up with something that works with your schedule not against it.
- Your routine should be tailored to your personality and everyday life, completely feasible.
- Would you rather workout at night or in the morning… with a trainer or by yourself… Take a fitness class or do at-home workouts?
- For me: I like to exercise in the morning and by myself. So my routine reflects that.

- Orchestrate your off days:
- This is for the days “you don’t feel like it” but you want to continue moving the needle.
- It should be so simple that your brain automatically thinks.
- “This will only take a few minutes, why not?”
- It is important that you incorporate these days into your routine, because moments will come where you genuinely just don’t want to exercise.
- For me: on days where I truly don’t want to go to the gym, I do a short pilates class, 15-30 min tops. This keeps me still active.
- Record your progress:
- Take footage. This is SO important. remember exercise is delayed gratification, not instant. It’ll take some time before you see real results.
- With our brain not getting that instant hit of dopamine, you’re going to start to think “what’s the point?” being able to compare old vs. new pics will help keep you going.
- Oh! and try not to be on social media as much, the gym bodies on there can be both uplifting and discouraging.

- Push yourself:
- This is where the real transformation begins, in your mind.
- No one is forcing you to do any of this. This is all your decision, your choice.
- Each day you prioritize your health..
- push yourself to do another rep, run a minute longer, stretch a little further.. you’re training your mind to persevere.
- Showing yourself you’re capable of the hard things, that you’re capable of still pushing when your body is aching. Mind over matter.
- You’ll be surprised of what you can do.
- Each day you prioritize your health..
“My Mental changed my Physical” .. I can’t stress how true this statement is. Once you get into your routine… I promise you’ll see too.
Perspectives start to change and although you may not have all the answers and still feel a little lost—
—because let’s be honest.. we all are in fact still just “figuring it out”.
But the one thing you will know and be sure of, is that you prioritize yourself and your health. You take care of you.
And that’s the most important thing you can ever do.
Closing Remarks:
I’m proud of you. You’re one step closer to changing your life.
Stay focused, stay disciplined, your future self thanks you.

One last question: Going to the gym tomorrow, yes?
